I've decided that reading posts by people who walk doesn't do as much good as actually walking, so I put on my shoes and actually went out the door one week ago. I know that I jumped in too quickly and didn't do the 12-week build up to walking an hour a day. I'm getting up pretty sore in the mornings but it doesn't last long. My job is so sedentary (at-home medical transcription) plus my growing backside finally motivated me to make this a part of life and not a brief fling. I'm not sure how far exactly I am walking, I just keep going until my pedometer says 10,000.
We live in Portland, Oregon and enjoy our 5 grown children and 9 grandchildren who are also in the area. I have lots of questions but will just stick to an intro for now. Ok, just 1 question- for those of us over 50 (like 56), does the soreness eventually go away or tone down somewhat?
